Maltodextrins are obtained from the hydrolysis of starches and are considered complex carbohydrates. They are used as energy sources and carriers and texture agents in many applications. They are usually called maltodextrins when DE (Dextrose Equivalent) is below 20 (higher DE’s are considered dried glucose).
Available in different origins (wheat and corn), Dextrose Equivalent grades (DE) and particle size.
Sauces and soups, ice-creams, baked products, sausages, in sport supplements as energy sources, etc.
